Nearly half of all accidents resulting from abrasive wheels happen due to unsafe working practices and operator errors. If you work with abrasive wheels then following strict health and safety practices is paramount to protect both yourself and others from harm. This Abrasive Wheels course will provide you with an introduction to working safely with abrasive wheels so that you can understand the risks and know which control measures are needed to prevent injury and ill-health.

The half-day course has been developed to provide awareness of the risks associated with employees who may come into contact with substances that are harmful to their health, this can be a mild irritant to a severe or potentially life changing illness. This course provides an understanding of the legal requirements, including documentation awareness, appropriate control measures and the importance of following controls and health surveillance.

The one-day course is for new, potential or recently elected employee representatives from all industry sectors and different types of organisations. This course is also suitable for existing representatives that would like to attend a refresher and/or expand upon their role and update their knowledge.

The course aims to provide individuals with a knowledge and understanding to conduct detailed and task specific risk assessments within their field of expertise.

The course aims to provide individuals with a knowledge and understanding of how the Cable Avoidance equipment works, the limitations, applications and the consequences of not implementing correct Cable Avoidance procedures. It will cover detecting and tracing methods and safe digging techniques.

The course aims to provide individuals with a knowledge and understanding to promote safe working at height practices and the correct use of harnesses.
