COSHH Awareness

The half-day course has been developed to provide awareness of the risks associated with employees who may come into contact with substances that are harmful to their health, this can be a mild irritant to a severe or potentially life changing illness. This course provides an understanding of the legal requirements, including documentation awareness, appropriate control measures and the importance of following controls and health surveillance.

Who is this course suitable for:

This course is for employees, supervisors and managers who use, handle and exposed to hazardous substances during the course of their daily activities.

This half-day classroom course covers the following topics:   

  

 

  • COSHH regulations and principles
  • Undertaking a suitable COSHH risk assessment and identifying appropriate controls ALARP
  • The need for safe use and storage arrangements. Including the selection and use of appropriate PPE and the requirements for selection RPE
  • Record keeping (including Material Safety Data Sheets)
  • Health surveillance

This is a non-regulated course, and the certificate is issued upon full attendance.
